Meet Learnthebrand Impact Apparel’s Guest Designer: Tim Jacobs

Timothy J Jacobs (20) is what most tech industries call an all-rounder. While being a UI/UX designer, Mechanical Engineer, Web Developer, and Graphic Designer, he is an avid cyclist. Currently, he is Vice President of Design and Development at Fluidity Political Consulting. Jacobs has a volunteering and leadership background centered on the improvement of the Back of the Yards neighborhood (Chicago, Illinois). He also instructs web development workshops at BLUE1647. Working in the creative field for more than five years leaves room for growth and more interesting projects.

LEARNtheBrand Impact Apparel: You are the featured guest designer for LEARNtheBrand Impact Apparel (Collection II). Why did you want to be the designer for this social impact apparel line?

Jacobs:
I was seeking an opportunity to extend my creative reach by designing something that meant more than an organization or company but an entire effort that promotes learning and education, something I myself is a big fan of.

LEARNtheBrand Impact Apparel: How did you come up with the design for Simplify?

Jacobs:
It was definitely a challenging assignment. My drawing pad is filled with whacky designs that emphasize simplicity, or overcoming complications. My initial concepts were things like brain surgery, rocket science and mathematical equations. The current design came about closer to the deadline when I started doodling in different fonts the word “Simplify” and I showed Monica (founder and CEO of LEARNtheBrand Impact Apparel) and Roho (Design Consultant), and we all agreed this was it.
