Mission Statement
Our mission is to design innovative learning solutions to transform lives and meet the demands of the 21st century learner.
Services provided and products designed by Learning Dimensions surpasses those of other educational consultant companies in that greater intent is made to integrate the five Dimensions of Learning (i.e., confidence and independence, mastery of skills and strategies, use of prior and emerging experiences, knowledge of the content matter, and reflection or “metacognition”). When learners obtain greater mastery of the Five Dimensions of Learning, they become better able to confront complex problems and create inventive and original solutions to those problems. They become empowered to make a difference in their communities and serve a greater good. Our motto is: “Learning Transforms Lives.”
Our Story
Learning Dimensions’ first clients consisted of a diverse group of non-for-profit organizations interested in making an impact in education through inquiry-based, academically rigorous, thought provoking, and service-oriented learning experiences for students. A major challenge, however, was that these organizations did not have the expertise and resources required to assist teachers with creating transformative learning experiences within their classrooms.
With this understanding, Monica Swope, the founder and Principal Educational Consultant for Learning Dimensions, decided to create an educational consultant company that would assemble a collection of highly qualified and specialized consultants to develop innovative learning environments and solutions. Services provided by Learning Dimensions, such as strategic educational planning, innovative curriculum solutions, and professional development options, places the type of resources and experiences needed to create and implement transformative learning experiences in the hands of clients. Our Founder
Monica Swope is the Founder and Principal Educational Consultant of Learning Dimensions, a Chicago-based educational consultant company committed to improving the quality of education. Learning Dimensions’ mission is to design innovative educational solutions and products to create transformative learning experiences that meet the demands of the 21st century learner. Services provided by Learning Dimensions allow clients to create learning environments that help learners of all ages to become better able to confront complex problems and create inventive and original solutions in order to make a difference in their communities and serve a greater good. Services offered by Learning Dimensions to clients are consistent with the company’s motto, “True learning is driven by curiosity, transforms, and makes a difference.”
Monica Swope holds a B.S. in History with a Secondary Education Certification and a M.Ed. of Education in Curriculum, Instruction, and Evaluation from the University of Illinois at Chicago as well as a M.A. in Educational Leadership and Administration from Chicago State University.
She is a higher education educator at multiple universities, a multiple Fulbright recipient (Japan, 2004; Germany 2009), and a past president of the Fulbright Association Chicago Chapter and current member of the Facing History and Ourselves Advisory Board. Ms. Swope is a TEDxPilsenWomen speaker, has been inducted into the Marquis Who's Who Registry, included in the Marquis Who's Who Top Professionals Series, welcomed to the roster of Marquis Who's Who Humanitarians and a Continental Who’s Who Pinnacle Professional Member.
